The book opens

The leather on the spine cracks as you lift the cover. Flakes of paper dissolve with the motion of air across pages unseen for millennia. Yet the ink is still bright, a tangled mess of twisted calligraphy crawling across the ancient page. You lean closer, translating the dead tongue in your mind, striving for the knowledge the unknown scribe trapped in this tome so long ago. You finally make out the first word:

“Welcome…”
